Heaven: marrying a best friend.

I love the Obamas. I really think that the same things that have bothered me about the world have been bothering them. So I like them politically. But now, I enjoy watching their marriage. Best friends married to each other.

I love the way they talk to each other. I love the way Michelle rolls her eyes when her husband twirls her. I love how they support each other
and tease each other. And that they are real. With each other. They no doubt are introspective people. And wise enough to have date nights alone. Keeping each other grounded. So when we see Obama and marvel at how centered he is -- I can't but think of the influence of Michelle.

And I must confess, being in a happy one is as comfortable as a cozy sweater and as glamorous as a bathrobe.
But sometimes the quiet contentment of being with a great person whom you love but don't always enjoy spills into a celebration. Then it's really fun.
